Chishio's Sprites

A revamp of a character I did a long time ago.


A Vampire type character, an offset of a character that I have been trying to perfect for a while.


Another sprite I just threw together.


Tora, an animal character that I have been working on for a while.


Anko. My most recent sprite. I havn't done many female sprites so I thought she would be a good choice.

One day I am going to f*ck something over, I swear it... every time I try to press the "quote" button, I accidentally press the "modify" instead...
Anyway, I really love your spriting style; it's got like a cross-blend of mspaint-photoshop-3D looks going on.
They all have minor flaws, mainly in the arms & legs but it is far less obvious in some of your more recent stuff (the random, crazy guy and Anko are really your best works).
The first two have pretty small legs for their size, which makes the heads seem exceptionally large.
Tora's an interesting design in the sense that it's an armored beast (don't see alot of those floating around the LF2 world), but the body seems kinda compressed, almost scrunched up. I suggest making him 100-120 pixels in length, because there's simply no way you can fit all that into an 80x80 frame. A larger sprite box will give you more room for perfecting the look.

You're getting really good.
Its about at the point where I can just look at the sprite without thinking of any technical amendments I would want to make. Or at least no critical ones.

I'll be expecting a full fledged ORIGINAL character release soon. *hint hint*

Still frames are good and all but you still have to consider animation, and transition between sequences. (or rather, the lack of them.)

I actually have been drawing up a character design for the past couple of weeks and when spring break comes around I will definitely have some time to work on a character.

I am looking for some constructive criticism here, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

And I must apologize for the lack of activity from me, I have been busy with robotics lately... so yah. Hopefully I will have something to show after that is done.

Hellx

Head:

1. Hair looks fake because of a very high forehead. It looks like a displaced wig on a skull. Lower the hair-line.
2. Eyes should be more menacing. Read: dark red.
3. Instead of sewn mouth in the middle, why not make a scary glasgow smile. That sh.it is creepy.

Body:

1. More prominent muscle tissue. Maybe a split in the middle chest department like those fit guys have. And of course, a nice six-pack on pelvis would be nice.
2. The left upper part of the cloth, from viewer's perspective, should be closer to the body and not block the view of the biceps, because it makes the hand look like it's twisted.
3. The lower part of the cloth should have a "C" form to it just because it would look cooler.
4. More pointy shoes.

Head:

1. What the hell is wrong with his ear and eyes? Make a normal square for an ear and put those water-blue irises in their places in the middle.
2. Hair could be bigger in height and right/left by one or two pixels. Same about Hellx.

Body:

1. The right arm, from viewer's perspective, is missing a deltoid (shoulder, that is) and the biceps is wrong. Try going in front of a mirror and doing a hand like that - see where the muscle is.
2. Lower part of the violet pants could go lower down the boot. Smaller shoes.

In conclusion, it looks bad only when I magnify the sprites times seven. You should sprite a magnified image too, to adjust/redesign the character at your own discretion.
