I'd like to introduce to you: Krita (I'm not the creator by the way ). Kritas is an advanced freeware spriting program, rivaling the quality of photoshop (I prefer Krita actually ) In 4 days, there is going to be a new release of the program. The program wasn't fully working for windows before, but it should be working for Windows as well now. The new version also comes with some great new features that can be helpful for any type of spriting. I will keep this post short, its probably best to just show you some tutorials so you can see for yourself: - Coloring tutorial (coloring, using layers & doing the shading)- Create good-looking textures (great for backgrounds)- Here's how to configure Krita for pixel artReview in a big spriters magazine: I hope you guys have a good use of this program. Be sure to hit the button in 4 days : DownloadYou can get a working beta here if you don't want to wait for another 2,5 days. It is working perfectly fine on windows 8 so far This is the version dating from february 15th
Useful hints: - For making multiple selections: press ‘a’ to add, ‘s’ to substract from your selection, ‘t’ to move your selection, and ‘r’ to replace(the default). - For LF2, you often need a 100% black pixel. You can get this by selecting the default brush, going to brush settings, and checking the box named 'sharpness'. Done!
